From giant computing machines to easily available PC, then from portable notebook to light weight Tablet PC, computer technology has certainly experienced huge change. Now, the latest news comes that Google and Apple are both working on the next generation of computer – wearable computer. It seems the war between these two giants is going to enter a new phase.

Wearable computer is not new. If you search the Internet, you will find news on this technology posted several years ago. In fact, according Wikipedia, the history of wearable computer can be traced back to the 1960s. “Wearable computers are miniature electronic devices that are worn by the bearer under, with or on top of clothing. This class of wearable technology has been developed for general or special purpose information technologies and media development. Wearable computers are especially useful for applications that require more complex computational support than just hardware coded logics.”
The two ambition giants are planning to enlarge their current mobile products lines and sell more smartphones with wearable computer. Last year, Apple hired Richard DeVaul, an expert in the field of wearable computer to work on prototyping concepts in a secret lab under the direction of Jony Ive. DeVaul stayed at the position for 18 months. Then he left and secured a place in Google and it is high possible he is working on similar project.
In the war of Tablet PC, Apple’s iPad is apparently taking the lead, but this is not over. Will Google get credits in the next round of wearable computer?
