LG has once announced to the public that it is going to release an “E-paper display”. LG has come to its commitment and a 6-inch E-paper display is coming to revolutionize the E-book device market. It is said that Europe market would be its first target while there was no word for the release in the North America.

It is equipped with a 1024* 768 resolution. It cannot be foldable or rollable while it can bend up to nearly 40 degree. This display is very light and thin. A body with a 0.7mm thickness is nearly one-third thinner than the grass display, and 14 g is half lighter than the grass display with the same configuration.

LG Company also claimed that this display has gone through a series of 1.5m Fell to the Ground Tests, which signifies its high durableness. LG plans to provide Chinese ODM for this flexible elastic display and begin sales in Europe.

We know that this 6-inch display is competing with the display in Amazon’s Kindle ereader. Amazon has sold millions of its Kindle ereaders series. It also announced that there had been 4 million Kindles sales in the US at the end of last year. Nevertheless, LG’s flexible elastic E-paper has possibilities to go beyond the prosperous Amazon Kindle series because of its long battery life and its screen’s flexibility.
