Q1: What is Stand Up Paddleboard?

The SUP is typically over 10' 0" in length, averaging 30" wide, and 4-6" thick. Recreational SUP type surfboards

normally range from 10' 0" to 12' 0" in length which are sufficient sizes to support most adult surfers or paddlers.

The SUP is a type surfboard that is a big platform, which allows a paddler/surfer the stability needed to stand up

on the board and paddle with a custom sized paddle to move the board from point A to point B.

SUPs allow the rider to be above the water and have a good view of the surroundings above and below the water.

If you want to see the fish or the underwater terrain, this is a great way to go.

The SUP requires good balance, but most people will find them relatively easy to ride and will bring the riders a lot

of fun and a feeling of success. You can ride the SUPs in most bodies of water, including lakes, rivers, bays, and

oceans. You will find them all over the country.

Q2:How to Choose Stand up Paddle Board?

A:Based on construction, there are two types of SUPs:

1、Inflatable SUP - Inflatable SUPs usually have PVC exteriors in order to form an air core. As with all things

inflatable, inflatable SUPs come with a pump that you can use to push in the air. If you’re someone who travels a

lot, inflatable SUPs are ideal for you as they can easily be deflated and folded into the trunk of your car. Moreover,

they are ideal to be carried by hand.

2、Solid SUP - Made out of foam cores and fiberglass, the solid SUPs were the original variants to come into the

market. They are rigid and more stable than their inflatable counterparts, making them perfect for longer cruises

and riding waves. If you have the space to store them, then they are a must buy.

Q3: How to Stand Up On Your SUP?

A:If this is your first attempt at this sport, the best thing is to start out in calm, flat waters that don’t have obstacles

like buoys and boats.

When starting out, you may find that it’s easier to kneel rather than stand upright. Below are steps for getting started:

1、Standing in shallow water alongside the board, put the paddles on the deck of the paddleboard and use this as an

outrigger. The paddle grip is located on the board’s rail, with the blade resting on the water.

2、Use the rails to hold the board. Your other hand will be hosting the grip of the paddle.

While in a kneeling situation, climb onto your board, just behind the board’s center point.

3、From the position of kneeling, try to get the balance point of the paddling board. Its nose need not pop up out of the

water. In the same way, the tail should not dig in.

4、To stabilize the board, maintain your hands on each side of the board.

5、When you are ready stand upright on the board, one foot at a time. Put your feet in the position that your knees

were. You may want to bring your friend to help in stabilizing the board as you learn to stand on it.

Q4: How to Turn a Paddle Board?

A: There are many straightforward ways of turning a paddle board.

1、Sidestroke: This method involves just paddling on one side until such a time that the nose turns in the way you

want to go. To turn right, you will need to paddle on the left, and if you want to go left, just paddle right. This

      makes a winding arcing turn.

2、Backpaddle: A quicker way of reversing or turning direction is to just drag the paddle backward on each side

      of your board.

3、Sweep stroke: Position your paddle in the direction of the front end of the board. Take one long sweeping

stroke towards the tail and away from your board. The board will move in the opposite direction to the stroke.

Q5: How to Paddle?

A: Your feet need to face forward approximately hip distance apart, with slightly bent knees.

1、To help keep balance, make sure your core is kept engaged.

2、Hold the top part of your paddle with one hand, with the other hand being placed at a comfortable distance

      roughly midway down the paddle.

3、The paddle angle needs to face away from you

4、 Make sure your arms are straight as you extend the paddle onward for each stroke.

5、Make four-to-five short, and close strokes on every side of the board and then change sides and reverse the

     hand position.

Q6: How to Stop?

A:Stopping the paddle is a breeze. All you need to do is to put your paddle in a vertical position into the water.

Tips: While stand up paddle boarding isn’t a tough thing to learn, expect to fall occasionally as  you gain skills.

For the inevitable times that you lose balance:

1、Ensure that the depth of the water you’re paddling in is at least shoulder deep, as this ensures that you will

not hit bottom when you do fall.

2、Aim to one side to fall into the water as opposed to falling onto the board. You will most likely be injured if you

     fall onto the board.

3、In case you get parted from your board and paddle, make efforts to get your board first and then paddle it to

     get back the paddle.
