GMC Attending National Hardware Show 2011
From the 2010 World Expo, GMC Community began to associates with the organizers of leading worldwide exhibitions to build up the GMC Pavilion/House and present only high-quality and original designed products manufactured in China. This stop of the GMC Global Tour was at the 2011 National Hardware Show, which has given global hardware buyers a refreshing experience on Chinese products.
The National Hardware Show in Las Vegas is a leading face-to-face sourcing event for the highly fragmented $343 Billion dollar US “home after market” which covers all the home improvement products. It attracts a worldwide audience of more than 27,000 industry professionals. To make the National Hardware Show easier to navigate, it has been classified into 9 Shows. These 9 shows consist of the larger National Hardware Show, which respectively focus on the areas of Hardware & Tools, Homewares, Lawn & Garden World, Paint & Accessories, Plumbing & Electrical, Storage & Organization, Tailgate Products, Inventors Spotlight and International Sourcing.
The GMC House at the 2011 National Hardware Show is divided into GMC Stage Show, GMC Logo Wall and Exhibition-live-inquiry Zone. As the sponsor and partner of the show, GMC Community managed to build the GMC House next to the Registration Center of the show, which has enabled almost 90% of the visitors to the show to visit the GMC House.
In the previous GMC Pavilions/Houses, Stage Show has always been a highlight of the whole event. For this time, it is certainly not an exception. During the 3-day exhibition, GMC Stage Show presented products including LED Street light, LED Wall light, Solar Panel, Kitchen Faucet, Door lock, Gardening Hand Tools and Engine. The Stage Show consists of Catwalk with products and simultaneous commentary.
The GMC Logo Wall is designed to collect and highlight those pronounced brands of GMC manufacturers. Those manufacturers on the wall do not only have strong productivity and rich experience in export but also have established themselves as brand-oriented manufacturers in China.
Buyers attracted by the stage show, sourcing catalogues and product photo gallery checked details of GMC manufacturers and send Exhibition-live-inquiries of their desired items in the GMC House. Moreover, with the explanation of the Exhibition Ambassadors, buyers were impressed by the collective brand of GMC of excellent Chinese manufacturers and the free sourcing solutions provided by GlobalMarket.
Among all the visitors to the Show, most of them are contractors, trading companies or detailers from North America.
Merchandising Manager (Hardware Tools)
The Home Depot Mexico
The Home Depot is the world’s largest retailer specializing in home improvement with their stores in all 50 states. Although the group has set up sourcing offices in China, some of the group’s branches are still conducting the sourcing work by themselves because of the enormous sourcing demands of stores in different regions. The Home Depot Mexico is an example.
After the economic crisis, under the pressure of cutting cost, the branch has been trying to skip the local agents and import directly from China. However, because of the countless number of Chinese suppliers, the sourcing team of the brand didn’t see a possibility to find good and genuine manufacturers in a cost-effective way. After hearing about the GMC standard and free sourcing solutions provided by GlobalMarket, Mr. David said he finally found a breakthrough for his team, with hope that he may obtain the help of GlobalMarket in terms of sourcing from China.
